Moving and downsizing. 300 gallon reef ready Oceanic custom aquarium. Has two corner overflows with perforated piping and pre-filters. Drilled for two returns and two drains. No leaks or scratches. The tank is braced throughout with half inch glass supports. The bottom is three 5/8 inch glass panels siliconed together. The back is painted black. It measures 8 feet long, 2 feet wide and 30 inches tall. The top of the canopy is about 7 feet from the ground. It covers three windows. The stand is oak stained in dark mahogany with crown molding along the top middle and bottom and fluted molding on the ends and between the doors. There is some mild wear around the lift holes on the top and inside the cabinet which I tiled with linoleum tiles. There are six raised paneled doors. The hood is about 10 inches tall and also has crown molding and two hinged panels. Each panel has a bank of VHO fluorescents attached to Icecap ballasts. One of the Icecaps does not work but the bulbs all do and they originally cost $25 each ( $100 in bulbs). I have been recently using two 96 watt power compact smart bulbs ( actinic/white) to keep the algae down. I am keeping them for the smaller 200 gallon tank I am replacing it with. I have run it off of a wet dry filter with a Mag 24 returned through a coral Life 36 watt sterilizer and partly diverted through a Red Sea Berlin skimmer. I need to keep the filtration for the new aquarium. I do have a couple hundred pounds of formerly live rock and coral gravel to go with the tank but I am keeping the fiberglass corals, plastic plants and the fish which are about 12-13 inches long and 24 years old. The original price for the tank, stand and canopy was $5000 at Dallas North Aquarium. That does not include the filter ( $250), biomedia ($200)Pump ( $140), skimmer ( $150), rock ($$) and plumbing. It takes six strong men to move the aquarium. The hood and stand can be moved with two. I have not purchased or set up the new aquarium as I haven’t moved yet. In order to insure that I do not lose the fish, I will have to set up the new tank first and move them. I will break down the tank and box up the rock and gravel. 2147381372 Lou
